Know the Paper: It's a 36-mark paper: 12 marks each for Criteria A, B, and C.
Timing: The official IDL paper is sent by the IB in April.
Criterion A: Evaluate the reliability and relevance of sources across disciplines.
Criterion B: Synthesize perspectives from at least two disciplines clearly and logically.
Criterion C: Reflect on implications and express judgment with personal insight.
Use PRM: Refer to the IDPRM (Performance Requirement Materials) for structure and formats.

Interdisciplinary Learning (IDL)

IDL tasks assess your ability to evaluate, synthesize, and reflect using at least two disciplines.

Answer all 3 criteria: There’s no choice — respond to A, B, and C!
Use evidence: Reference all provided sources clearly. Avoid vague claims.
Synthesize: In Criterion B, always combine perspectives from both disciplines.
Use linking phrases: “This suggests…”, “From a scientific perspective…”, “However, the ethical implication is…”
Plan responses: Draft brief outlines to avoid disorganized writing.
Global Contexts: Use your knowledge of GC to add depth in Criteria C.
